There are no words to describe my excitement about Becca Cosmetics‘ new limited edition Après Ski Glow Collection for the holiday season! This collection includes an eyeshadow palette in a gold compact and a face palette in a light blue compact with snowy evergreen treetops embossed on both packaging that fits in beautifully with the wintry theme; both palettes also comes with a full-sized mirror on the inside. I was sucked in right away from the beginning because of the stunning presentation — well done, Becca, on such a classy and elegant holiday design!
The Après Ski Glow Eye Lights Palette ($45.00 for 9.8 g) includes seven neutral eyeshadows in two luxe satin and shimmer finishes, and features Becca’s iconic Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter formula that has been customized just for the eyes. There are five shades that were inspired by the highlighters (Pearl, Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Opal, Topaz), which all have a shimmery finish, and two new holiday inspired colors (Toasted Marshmallow and Hot Cocoa) with very fine glimmers that disintegrate upon application to give a satin payoff.
I think the wearable color scheme of this palette combined with the gorgeous packaging will appeal to many, especially for those who are a fan of neutrals and Becca’s powder formula. The colors are all very beautiful and complement one another nicely, and are easy to use as they perform effortlessly and are shades that will suit all skin tones and eye colors. The texture of all seven shades were consistent throughout the palette — every color felt luxuriously soft and silky, and just melted onto the skin. Pigmentation and payoff were beautiful — the shimmer colors contain fine specks that illuminate instantly upon application for a breathtaking glow, while the two darker satin shades are great for deepening the crease and lash lines. I had no issues with the performance of these eyeshadows as they all applied, blended, and layered readily and easily without any difficulties; there were no fall-outs, unevenness, or patchiness, and they lasted well throughout the day with zero fading or creasing. I enjoyed this palette, even though, it contained no matte shades. Did I lust for a matte color in this shimmer dominated palette — of course! Do I think this palette is stunning and worth getting, nonetheless — yes, that is, if you’re into a subtle, natural looking finish that is youthful and ethereal!
The exclusive selection of colors all in one convenient palette is one of the main reasons, along with the beautiful formula, that makes this palette truly lovable, in my opinion. Even for a matte lover like myself, I couldn’t help falling for the buttery texture and gorgeous radiance that these colors gave.
This eye palette contains the shades:
- Pearl – soft luminescent white
- Rose Quartz – lightened pink with golden shimmers
- Moonstone – shimmery pale gold
- Opal – shimmery warm gold
- Topaz – shimmery golden bronze
- Toasted Marshmellow – satin light brown with a warm undertone
- Hot Cocoa – berry brown with a satin finish
The Après Ski Glow Face Palette ($54.00 for 15.5 g) includes a blend of old favorites and new loves, featuring three highlighters, two blushes, and a bronzer for a total of six colors in a beautifully coordinated lineup. True to Becca’s standards, these powders are anything but dull with a silky consistency and breathtaking color payoff that makes it incredibly difficult to not fall in love with.
I’m a major sucker for face palettes this one — I love the simple and elegant layout of the powders, and the cohesive color selection that makes this palette so well-rounded, convenient to use, and ultra travel-friendly. These powders blew me away the second that I touched them — creamy, buttery, and smooth are just some of the words that come to mind. The softness of the formula impressed me from swatching to application — they blended perfectly and adhere effortlessly onto the skin for a fuss-free pigmented payoff that looked beautiful and natural. I have fair skin and these shades complemented my skin tone wonderfully, from the rosy pink blush to the warm brown bronzer to all of the different highlighters in between, there wasn’t one color that I didn’t love. I had to take a minute or two, however, to admire the icy white highlighter that’s a standout in this palette — it’s so freaking unique and beautiful, and I’m utterly obsessed with it!
This palette is truly beautiful inside and out, and if I had to choose between this or the Eye Lights Palette, I would definitely add this one to my wishlist if I didn’t already own it! You will not be disappointed with this beauty — I promise!
This face palette contains the shades:
- Rose Quartz – lightened pink with a golden undertone (highlighter)
- Icicle – icy white with a blue shift (new highlighter)
- Winter Berry – rosy pink with a satin finish (new blush)
- Blushed Copper – shimmery copper with a warm undertone (blush)
- Opal – shimmery warm gold (highlighter)
- Bronzed Bondi – warm medium brown with a satin finish (bronzer)
I created this easy and natural makeup look using the eye and face palettes.
On my eyes, I have on only eyeshadows from the Eye Lights Palette — I used the shades:
- Toasted Mashmellow – Crease / Lower Lash Line
- Hot Cocoa – Crease / Lower Lash Line
- Topaz – Center Lid
- Opal – Inner Lid / Tear Duct
- Rose Quartz – Brow Bone
I used the Après Ski Glow Face Palette to define my face and give it a natural glow — I contoured all over using the Bronzed Bondi bronzer, then applied the Winter Berry onto my cheeks for a rosy flush, and finished off with the Rose Quartz Highlighter for a soft luminescence.
