I was given the opportunity to pick out some products from BH Cosmetics to try and couldn’t pass up on these gorgeous highlight palettes, so I got both the Spotlight and Blacklight palettes ($16.99 each for 5.5 g x 6), and I’m so incredibly glad that I did because these palettes are freaking stunning!
Both highlight palettes have a large 6-pan design with a variety of shimmering shades that would flatter all skin tones beautifully. Every single one of these colors have intense pigmentation; one swipe of the finger will give an opaque color payoff. These highlight shades glide readily onto the skin and give an even and highly blend-able finish that is effortless. The consistency varies a little bit between the two palettes — the shades in Spotlight seems to have a more creamy and dense texture, whereas the colors in Blacklight are much softer and smoother. Regardless, all of these shades perform stunningly, giving an out-of-this-world luminance that is non-glittery, customizable, and long wearing.
If you’re into the subtle radiance effect, you would need to use a soft hand when applying on these powders, otherwise, you’ll get a super fierce glow that can be seen from outer space. I, personally, love the intensity of these highlight shades and think the mix of colors in both palettes are so breathtaking!
- Ethereal – icy cream with a golden reflect undertone
- Dream – yellow gold
- Radiance – rose gold
- Glow – champagne gold with a silvery sheen
- Allure – cool mauve
- Vivid – rosy pink
The Blacklight Highlight Palette is what dreams are made of! The shades in this palette are so freaking magical — think mermaid or unicorn vibes! I love the prismatic effect that some of these colors give — it’s truly breathtaking! The gorgeous iridescent undertones doesn’t show up very well on camera, especially with flash photography, but it’s definitely visible on the skin in natural light! If you layer these colors on top of an eyeshadow, the effect is much more evident! I wore Illusion on the inner corners of my eyes and it the opalescent reflect was very subtle, but when I wore it on my eyes with an eyeshadow underneath, the highlight transformed and the iridescence finish popped!
- Electra – light yellow
- Laser – iridescent lime green
- Kween – iridescent light blue
- Strobe – icy silvery white
- On Point – iridescent medium pink
- Illusion – iridescent light pink with a blue/lavender reflect
In the photos below, I have on the shade Illusion from the Blacklight Highlight Palette on my inner corners and the shade Glow from the Spotlight Highlight Palette on my cheekbones. As you can clearly see, my highlight is lit AF!
