One of my favorite things of being a beauty blogger is, of course, discovering new brands and products to share you. It brings me so much joy to shine some light on brands that most certainly deserve it like this new indie brand that I stumbled upon on Instagram a few weeks ago called Black Label Cosmetics. They kicked off their launch by introducing three beautiful liquid lipsticks ($18.00 for 3.5 g), which are all vegan and cruelty-free.
The lipsticks are housed in a luxe and edgy transparent packaging with a gradient silver cap and a standard doe-foot applicator. All three colors are incredibly on-trend, ranging from a peachy nude to a cool mauve to a dark purple.
Like majority of the world, I’m extremely obsessed with liquid lipsticks, so needless to say, I was super excited to try out these colors! These lipsticks have a wet formula that dries down after a few seconds to a completely matte finish. They apply on smoothly and give a true-to-color payoff, but requires some layering to get an opaque finish as the applicator doesn’t pick up a lot of product. I didn’t get full coverage in one swipe and had to dip into the tube a few times to achieve the desired pigmentation, but these colors were extremely workable and build-able, so that wasn’t an issue. These colors don’t set too quickly either, so they’re very easy to layer without looking patchy, which I liked. I also really enjoyed the smooth finish — they didn’t settle into my lip lines and weren’t super drying, which made them very comfortable to wear. They have really great longevity as well, giving five to six hours of wear with gradual fading in the center of the lips.
Lucid is a peachy nude; this is what a “nude” lip color should look like, in my opinion — it’s a flesh tone that isn’t brown or pink, and is just pure perfection.
Bitter Pill is a cool mauve; I can see this shade being the most popular out of the three as mauve tones are super popular at the moment and this color is absolutely gorgeous.
Dark Horse is a darkened purple; dark hues are very tricky and complex to get right as they’re usually streaky or uneven, but I was pleasantly surprised at how opaque and workable this color was — it has some slight streakiness to it, but can easily be layered for more coverage.
These liquid lipsticks are available for purchase at BlackLabelCosmetics.Com.
I definitely recommend checking them out — these colors are beautifully formulated with great workability, pigmentation, and lasting power. I look forward to seeing the brand’s color extension of these liquid lipsticks since they’re bomb!
