I’m finally here with a fall attire! The weather was gloomy and super windy today, so it was the perfect time to style a couple of my new fall pieces. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to shoot this look — the wind was so wicked (you’ll see what I mean in one of the photos) and it took multiple attempts to get shots that didn’t consist of my hair being all over my face. I’m glad I was able to get some decent photos in the end.
I’ve always said that an all black outfit can do no wrong — it’s easy, flattering, and ultra chic. You can play up the look with cool jewelry pieces and add a pop of color with a pair of shoes or a handbag. In today’s case, I kept things chill and styled a basic black crop top with some stretchy black high-waisted jeans, a pair of mesh black wedge booties, and a burgundy jacket to finish off the laid-back look; a pair of gold stud earrings and a beautiful gold metal necklace were my accessories of choice.
Aside from the beautiful and chic half-circle metal pendant that’s adorned in elegant pearls, I fell in love with the Aasha Necklace from Purpose Jewelry for more than just its beauty. “Aasha” means hope in Hindi and every piece of Purpose Jewelry symbolizes for hope and a new life for survivors of trafficking. This incredible handcrafted necklace was made by a survivor of modern-day slavery, and is more than just a jewelry piece — it’s a reminder that nothing is too small to make a big impact. I’m so honored to wear this necklace and am so deeply moved by Purpose’s efforts in changing these women’s lives.
“We work with survivors in Mumbai, India and Orange County, CA. From creation to shipping, these young women are playing a critical role in every step of the process. They are able to earn a fair wage and gain employable skills for the future.”
