I’ve been practicing some major self-control these past few weeks to not play with these gorgeous new limited edition makeup products from Cargo Cosmetics — I needed to wait to photograph them for the blog before I could use them and wasted no time doing so today once the photos were all done! Green is my new obsession this season and Cargo just took my love for this color to a whole other level with their beautiful Emerald City Eyeshadow Palette, which I’ve been swooning over ever since it launched. Also in this fall collection of launches is a new eye pencil kit that contains four full-sized waterproof eyeliners! I will be reviewing both of these products for you today — make sure to stick around till the end of the post to see the makeup look that I created.
First off, I am super in love with the green and gold packaging for these products — these colors are so stunning and festive, and perfect for the upcoming holiday season.
The Swimmables Eye Pencil Kit ($25.00 for 1.2 g x 4) includes four full-sized eyeliners with two mattes (black and brown) and two shimmery shades (green and bronze). These eye pencils have an ultra creamy texture that glides readily and smoothly onto the skin to give a richly pigmented color payoff. They’re so easy to apply without tugging or pulling on the eyes, and are incredibly long lasting due to the waterproof and smudge-proof formula. They don’t budge once they set, doesn’t fade or bleed, and will only come off when removed. These eyeliners are definitely some of the best I’ve ever tried and I love that the kit contains such wearable shades with classic hues and fun pops of colors.
Black Sea is a rich matte black.
Pebble Beach is a matte dark brown.
Shelly Beach is a shimmery hunter green.
Dorado Beach is a shimmery golden bronze.
The limited edition Emerald City Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00 for 0.8 g x 12) was inspired by Seattle and influenced by the city’s landscape and architecture, which was nicknamed the Emerald City for its’ lush greenery. This twelve-pan palette features an array of matte, satin, and shimmer shades with a mix of neutrals and green tones.
I was quite fascinated by the unique color scheme of this palette since it’s not very often that a palette features so many green hues and the touches of gold in here complements the packaging just beautifully. Pretty appearance aside though, these colors are super wearable and I was extremely impressed with the formula. These eyeshadows have a tremendously soft and creamy texture that applied nicely and blended effortlessly with great pigmentation and color payoff, which was consistent throughout all twelve shades. They all swatched nicely on my arm and the quality surely transferred onto the eyes. I love how these colors work so well together to give a truly effortless application with no unevenness or patchiness. I really enjoyed wearing these eyeshadows and have to say that this is one of my favorite palettes from Cargo — hats off to their team for creating such a beautiful and flawless palette!
