I was sent an incredible surprise package from my new friend, Eddie Funkhouser, a few weeks ago, filled with his entire collection of stunning lipsticks! You all know how much of a lipstick lover I am, so I was beyond elated and grateful to have been gifted these beauties. I have all fourteen shades to share with you — in-depth descriptions and swatches will all be in this post!
The lipsticks ($11.99 each for 4 g) are housed in a very minimal black packaging that isn’t bulky and feels very lightweight. I discovered that these lipsticks are from two separate collections — Chromographic and Hyperreal. I checked out the ingredients on the website and all of these lipsticks are identical in their formulations; they’re all made in Italy and are infused with vitamins E and C to nourish and hydrate lips, and mango fruit extract and flower extract to smooth skin. There are only two finishes — cream and shimmer.
The cream formula is my favorite since these shades are the most pigmented, giving full color coverage with no effort. I love incredibly soft and weightless texture, and how smoothly and evenly these colors apply on. I had no issues with any of these shades — the creamy formulation was consistent throughout and was a true pleasure to wear.
The shimmer finish is on the sheerer side and while I’m not a fan of shimmery lip colors, I do appreciate that the glimmers aren’t chunky or gritty on the skin. They give a beautiful reflective shine and are very hydrating and comfortable on the lips.
These lipsticks have a lot of shine to them because of the moisturizing formula, but I didn’t find them to be slippery; they adhere well to the skin, are non-streaky, and lasted three to four hours without eating or drinking. If you’re not into the matte lip trend or are prone to dry lips, you’ll definitely enjoy these lipsticks! The formula and color selection is lovely, and not to mention, the super affordable price tag — love it!
To make swatching easier and more organized, I broke the lipsticks up into two groups with seven lipsticks in each — neutrals and brights.
The neutral shades include:
Innuendo is a pinky nude with a cream finish.
Skinny Dip is a semi-sheer light pink with fine shimmers.
Love Froze is a shimmery sheer pink.
Kiki is a creamy medium pink.
Model Citizen is a nude brown with a pink undertone.
Centerfold is a shimmery light brown with a silvery sheen.
Foxy Brown is a deep rust brown.
The bright shades include:
Strip Search is a bright, cool-toned pink with a high-shine finish.
Ignition is a vibrant strawberry pink.
Pulp Fiction is a bold warm red.
Quiet Riot is a deepened fuchsia with microscopic shimmers.
Rumor is a burgundy red with a brown undertone.
Epic is a lightened magenta with a cool undertone.
Modern Marvel is a berry purple with blue and lavender glitters.
