I’ve held onto these products for the past two months and I’m so stoked to finally publish my review on these beautiful Flirt Cosmetics goodies with you. This fun and youthful brand with playful illustrations and a super cool vibe is the latest creation from beauty powerhouse Estee Lauder.
Prior to trying out these products and after doing a little research to discover that EL, who also owns MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, and Smashbox, just to name a few, is also the parent company of Flirt Cosmetics, definitely increased my enthusiasm, but also raised my expectations. Ultimately, I was not disappointed with these products from Flirt and was incredibly blown away by their fantastic quality. I truly hope that the brand will expand their collection because I’ve become insanely obsessed with their lipsticks and eyeshadows, and am yearning for more colors!
The Major Metallics Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 10 g) is an instant attention grabber, featuring ten stunning shimmer infused metallic shades with an array of warm and cool tones. The eyeshadows are laid out in a simple and clean structure with five colors on the top and five on the bottom, inside a sturdy cardboard packaging with a full-sized mirror.
These eyeshadows took my breath away the moment that I swatched them on my arm — creamy, smooth, pigmented, and vibrant — they all gave a high impact color payoff with minimal fall-outs and had a one-swipe pigmentation. The beautiful formula and color intensity transferred over onto the eyes to impress me further more, giving an even and easy application with great adhesion and blendability that made the entire process so effortless and enjoyable. These shades work incredibly well together and have such a stunning luster to them, while also being crease-free and long wearing. If you’re not into wearing bold eyeshadows or aren’t a fan of intense metallic colors, then this palette won’t be your cup of tea, but for a color lover like me, who loves being extra AF and enjoy experimenting with vibrant makeup creations, I couldn’t be more in love with this palette! The variety of colors, rich pigmentation, and workability of these eye colors just takes my breath away!
This palette includes the shades:
- Champers – pale golden champagne
- It’s Lit – bright yellow gold
- Turn Up – coppery orange
- Fire – muted burgundy with an orange undertone
- Kween – rich plum with a brownish tint
- Frosting – icy metallic silver
- Rose All Day – golden bronze
- $ – emerald green with yellow shimmers
- Disco – deep sapphire blue
- Cosmos – rich black with teal and lavender shimmers
In addition, I also have two out of the six Muva Mouth Matte Liquid Lipsticks ($18.00 each for 4 g) in Scallywag and Bad Bitch. I’m a huge matte lip lover and was elated to add these new shades to my collection. These liquid lipsticks have a true matte finish with a wet-to-dry formula that sets within seconds after application to give a budge-proof and transfer-resistant coloration. They felt very lightweight and are highly pigmented, and also applied on nicely and evenly with no streakiness for a fuss-free full coverage. While these lip colors offer great color payoff and a long wear time, they are drying due to the lack of moisture in the formula. I recommend exfoliating and moisturizing lips prior to application for a smoother appearance and more comfortable wear.
Scallywag is a deep peachy nude; I love how wearable this shade is and think it’s a great every day lip color that would pair well with a variety of skin tones.
Bad Bitch is a cool-toned taupe with a gray undertone; this edgy color is definitely for the risk-taker and statement-maker as it can be quite intimidating to wear.
For this vibrant makeup look, I used colors from the Major Metallics Eyeshadow Palette.
- Fire – Inner & Outer Lid
- Turn Up – Crease / Transition
- It’s Lit – Center Lid / Center Lower Lash Line
- $ – Lower Lash Line
- Cosmos – Outer Lower Lash Line
- Champers – Brow Bone / Tear Duct
