Anyone who knows makeup, knows the name Kevyn Aucoin. His talent for beauty, from his makeup skills to his luxury line of cosmetics, has always been a huge inspiration to me and to the rest of the beauty industry. I look up to this amazing artistic genius in so many ways and now to be able to own a piece of his creation is just indescribable.
I was lucky to have been gifted The Neo-Highlighter ($58.00 for 21 g) for review and let me tell you, when I say this highlight palette is the most beautiful thing that has ever touch my face, in no way am I exaggerating — beautiful doesn’t even come close to illustrating the gorgeousness of this palette!
The Neo-Highlighter in Sahara is a highly pigmented, three-in-one palette that contains three best-selling highlight shades for the ultimate glow, featuring Candlelight, Starlight, and Sunlight. These ultra luxurious, silk-like powders have a marvelous soft texture that melts effortlessly onto the skin to give a multi-dimensional luminosity that’s unlike any highlighter I’ve ever worn. All three warm-toned shades have fine shimmers that doesn’t feel gritty or look glittery, but yet, still give an ethereal radiance that’s breathtaking. They apply on well, blend seamlessly, are easy to layer, and lasts all day long.
These highlighters can be used on the eyes and cheeks in various ways to give luminosity to the skin — wear the colors individually or mix and match them for a customized effect. For a natural glow, dust either Candlelight or Starlight gently onto the cheekbones, and for a more spectacular shine, layer the two lighter colors on with pressure for an intensified radiance. Apply the third shade in the palette, Sunlight, onto the crease of the eyes to add depth or on top of a matte bronzer when worn on the cheeks for added warmth and illumination.
This palette contains the shades:
- Candlelight – light, golden peach with a warm undertone
- Starlight – medium peach with soft golden shimmers
- Sunlight – warm light brown with a gold sheen
In the left photo, I have on only bronzer — no blush or highlight. In the right photo, I applied a mixture of Candlelight and Starlight onto my cheeks to give my skin a flush of color and luminescence (I went for a strong highlight and applied the shades with a heavy hand — I’m obsessed with the glow!).
