I was lucky to have received four of Lancome’s gorgeous L’Absolu Rouge Hydrating Shaping Lipsticks ($32.00 each) for review. These are my first Lancome lipsticks ever and I’m just so enamored with their luxuriousness!
The lipsticks have a sleek black lacquer and gold case that displays Lancome’s signature rose as a gold domed seal on the cap — with a simple push on the rose, the lipstick clicks open to reveal its beautiful color. The gold label at the bottom of the tube displays the shade name, as well as the type of finish, which I really like.
The four shades that I have (Caprice, Nuit & Jour, Rose Lancome, and Berry Noir) cover the three finishes in the forty-four color collection, consisting of one cream, one sheer, and two matte shades.
I found all four shades to be incredibly hydrating and very comfortable to wear, even with the mattes, which have a subtle sheen to them that makes them feel lush and non-drying. Other than the sheer finish, the cream and matte colors had great pigmentation and gave a vibrant color payoff. These lipsticks didn’t last up to eight hours on me like they claim (I don’t think any lipstick would be able to last that long), but the darker colors will leave a residual stain on lips, giving a tinted effect once the initial coloration has worn off that’s very pretty. I really enjoy the soft and weightless texture of these lipsticks, and love the ultra moisturizing formula that glides on like butter for a smooth and luscious result.
132 Caprice is a creamy bright red.
202 Nuit & Jour is a sheer peachy nude.
378 Rose Lancome is a bright rose pink with a matte finish.
397 Berry Noir is a matte darkened red with a hint of brown undertone.
