Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection (All 4 Eyeshadow Palettes) Review, Swatches & Makeup Looks

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection

[UPDATE: The collection is now available for purchase at Morphe.Com and Ulta.Com.]

I waited so anxiously for this PR package to arrive — you don’t understand how excited I am about this! As I am a huge fan of both Morphe and Jaclyn Hill, I know that when these two come together, there can only be amazing things in store for us makeup lovers. I am ecstatic to share with you the new Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection, their latest and greatest collaboration, featuring four individual 10-pan eyeshadow palettes in four different color schemes (green, yellow, purple, and red).

When Morphe and JH teamed up to develop the Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette that launched last year, they created one hundred eyeshadow colors that had to get narrow down to just thirty-five shades for the palette. This new collaboration is a continuation of the first eyeshadow palette. The new four (and much more travel-friendly) palettes contain colors that were kept in “the vault” from the development process — this means that these shades have the same pressed finish, formulation, and pigmentation as the colors in the JH Palette.

These palettes will retail individually for $15.00 each (for 16 g) or you can purchase the bundle for $49. This collection was supposed to launch on 6/26 at Morphe.Com, but due to inconsistency with production and some people receiving faulty palettes (beauty influencers and customers who bought the palettes at a Las Vegas in-person event before they officially launched), Morphe and Jaclyn have decided to postpone the launch date until further notice (check out Morphe’s statement on Instagram here about the issue).

I tested out all four of my palettes and found no major issues with any of the eyeshadows, so I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. This is such a beautiful collection and I truly enjoy my  palettes — you can check out the four makeup looks that I created with each of the palettes below.

These eyeshadow palettes have a clean, sleek white packaging with metallic silver lettering and confetti-like detailing on the cover, and comes with a mirror on the inside. They’re smaller in size and more condensed compared to the original JH Palette, so they’re easier to use and travel with. Each palette has its own name and theme with coordinating color accents on the packaging that are associated with the shades on the inside to make them easier to differentiate amongst one another, which is really helpful; i.e. Armed & Gorgeous, the yellow palette, features silver and yellow confetti on the cover with the name of the palette in yellow font along the spine as well. The names of the eyeshadows are also placed underneath the colors, so that’s a nice upgrade from the original eyeshadow palette.

From my personal experience with all of the eyeshadows that I’ve tried from these four palettes, the formulation is really nice. None of these shades felt drying and had a very smooth consistency that blended and layered on effortlessly. I had no issues with fall-outs, streakiness, or unevenness. The shimmer shades, per usual, swatched beautifully and the ones that I wore provided a rich pigmentation with minimal effort. The matte colors, on the other hand, swatched faintly, but once applied onto the eyes, they had fairly good color payoff and built up without any difficulty, so they’re very workable. I appreciate how well these eyeshadows work and wear together — they integrate nicely with one another and give a cohesive finish that isn’t patchy, which is extremely important to me.

After experimenting and playing with colors from each palette, it’s impossible to not love them all! Every single palette is beyond beautiful, unique, and versatile — the shades are all stunning and the color stories are all very well-thought-out and easy to use. While there are some similarities between a few of the colors from these mini palettes to the original Jaclyn Hill Palette, I would still recommend these small palettes because of the affordable price point, amount of product, quality, and travel-friendly size.

Whether or not, you should get the entire collection is personal preference. I’m a makeup addict and collector, who loves versatility and experimenting with different looks and bold colors, so I’m drawn to all four palettes. Depending on how you use and wear these eyeshadows, you can definitely create day and night looks with all of these palettes.

The Dark Magic Palette has a green theme with a mostly cool assortment of colors where matte dominates over shimmer. The eyeshadows consist of a matte nude, various green hues, browns, a dark blue, and a creamy jet black. This is such a stunning palette!

The yellow-themed Armed & Gorgeous Palette features six mattes and four rich shimmer colors with an all-around warm lineup. I love the color story of this palette with the yellow, gold, and orange hues; however, the placement of the icy white shade in this palette was confusing to me since it seemed out of place next to the rest of the warm tones.

The Bling Boss Palette has a purple color scheme with a perfect matte to shimmer ratio, featuring four mattes and six shimmers; the color Berry Treasure contains fine, disintegrating shimmers that goes on dry, so I would count it as a matte as well. Purple and red hues complement each other beautifully and is one of my favorite color combinations, so I’m glad that this palette offers a variety of shades with both undertones.

The Ring The Alarm Palette features a red color scheme with four shimmer shades, one satin shade, and four matte shades. This palette is the most wearable out of the four, in my opinion, since all of the shades are super user-friendly. I love the color arrangement in this palette — I gravitate towards this one the most.
