After months of planning and redecorating, my beauty room is finally complete! I’ve uploaded snippets here and there on my Instagram, but today, I’m going to take you through my happy place. I have a colorful soul and a very feminine style, so these aspects definitely resulted in my decor as well. Although this is a small room, I tried to utilize every inch of the area and even the walls! I’m so in love with how the room came together and couldn’t be more obsessed with it; this is where I spend majority of my time, creating makeup looks, shooting fashion posts, planning and editing blog projects — it’s my little nook of happiness and a representation of my style and who I am. It makes me so happy whenever I’m in this room and I hope you all enjoy this room tour and getting to know a little bit more about me! This is going to be a super long post, so go grab a snack and come back! 🙂
Throughout the post, I’ll give you more details about the decor pieces, my inspirations, and I will include links to as many products as possible!
I’m infatuated with white furniture because it has a clean and minimal vibe, while allowing me to add touches of color for a personal touch — it’s like a blank canvas and my decor and accessories are the highlights. Every single piece of furniture that I own is from Ikea; this is my go-to place for furniture — super chic and ridiculously affordable!
Bed Frame (discontinued — similar style here) | Paris Picture | Vanity Table | Stool | 9-Drawer Unit | Wall Shelves | Clothes Rack | String Lights: Ankit | Bed Sheet Set: Linens & Hutch | Duvet Cover Set & Tassel Pillow: Target
Crisp new white sheets are the best! I love this set from Linens & Hutch so much — it’s a bit pricey, but the quality and softness is amazing (don’t worry, those shoes in the photo are clean and unworn — I would never throw a worn pair of shoes on brand new white sheets, I’m not that crazy! Lol!)
I also picked up this tassel pillow from Target yesterday and I love it so much! It’s so beautiful — I could stare at it forever!
I’ve wanted a shoe wall for the longest time, ever since my Tumblr days, and I finally made it happen earlier this year when I saw Amber Scholl’s YouTube video on her shoe collection! I drove to Ikea as soon as I could, got the wall shelves, and installed them by myself — it was a proud moment for me as I stared at my collection, but also my handiwork (I’m a nail and hammer kind of girl, so this was a major project for me since I did it alone instead of asking the hubs to do it for me!).
A candy-colored wall of shoes to greet me every morning when I wake up is truly so satisfying (***speaking like a true shoe-a-holic!***). I regret not putting up this shoe wall sooner — best decision I ever made! If you’re wondering, these aren’t all of my shoes — I have a separate closet outside of my room where the rest of them live. . . it’s a serious addiction! I’m addicted to all of the pretty things in life!
On the right side of my room is my beloved makeup corner. I remembered when I was finally able to afford this vanity table — I was over the moon! It’s very girly and princess-y, but it’s starting to get too small for me as it doesn’t have much storage. This is why I got the 9-drawer unit, but that’s filling up with cosmetics too, so I’m not sure what do if my makeup collection continues to expand (maybe a bigger house!).
I added string lights to my vanity table and bed frame to give the areas a more whimsical and romantic feel — these lights are super inexpensive and instantly brightens up the room and makes it so dreamy and pretty! I’ll insert a photo of what the room looks like at night with the lights on at the end of the blog post.
I just finished this intricate feather drawing this morning and was so excited to add it to this shelf! The center of the shelf was so bare next to all of these brushes, so I needed something to fill up the spot.
Isn’t this amethyst bonsai tree from Karma & Luck just stunning?!
Some other pretty things that are displayed on my vanity . . .
Dried roses from Valentine’s Day add a vintage-esque touch that’s delicate and nostalgic.
My dangly drop earrings are hung on a white jewelry tree, accompanied by this adorable unicorn jewelry dish that’s nothing short of amazing (get it here from One Of A Kind Decor and use the promo code “LIENJAE” for 15% off of your entire purchase).
I keep my Pure Color Love lipsticks from Estee Lauder front and center — the company gifted this entire lipstick collection to me and it means the world, so I want to have them right where I can see and admire them (check out my review and swatches of the collection here)! The lipstick holder is from byAlegory.
Sunnies for days . . . I like to have options! 🙂
On top of my 9-drawer unit, I keep some of my bigger eyeshadow palettes, as well as all of my eye and lip brushes, and liner pencils. All of these acrylic organizers were from Home Goods. I got the pink geode rock at the Museum of Science in Boston.
Underneath my vanity table is a lineup of various acrylic organizers that I acquired over the years and I keep majority of my makeup and jewelry in here. The biggest organizer on the left was sent to me a long time ago by a company that’s no longer in business. I have another one from Home Goods, Muji, and The Original Beauty Box.
My brush holders were actually created for lip glosses, but I have too many brushes that needed a good home and these pretty holders were perfect for the job; they’re also from byAlegory. The round storage boxes are from Ikea and the animal print jewelry box was a gift from Nicole Lee.
I’m a huge fan of gallery walls and can look at images of them for hours, so why not create one of my own! I love that these gallery walls are eclectic, fun, and unique! My wall features various floral prints and quotes with a daisy painting that was done by yours truly, and a stunning custom metal script name sign created by the amazing team over at Rusted Orange Craftworks Co.!
The metal sign arrived in its raw, unfinished steel form to allow for each individual to customize it however they like, which is really cool. I painted mine pink, of course, with acrylic paint. It was the missing piece to my gallery wall and it’s perfection!
On the other side of the room, I have an overflowing clothes rack filled with colorful dresses and dusters. I ran out of space in my tiny closet, so this was the perfect solution for my clothes hoarding! On top of the rack, I have another wall shelf from Ikea that showcases some pretty little things and an assortment of my handbags.
The gold polka dots storage box set was from Ankit and they house my OPI nail polishes and some random knick knacks. My colorful notebook collection is laid out here as well, next to this gorgeous antique gold glass jar from One Of A Kind Decor.
I thought this pineapple dish was so cute and had to get it! It holds my lovely IT Cosmetics pins so nicely!
Cute pink things just chillin’ underneath my nightstand table. . .pink is life!
Here’s what the string lights look like at night — sooo pretty!
