I always get so excited when new lip products arrive at my door because I’m a lip junkie, so inevitably, I was overjoyed to have received a little surprise from Pixi Beauty with these adorable lippies! I was sent three of the Shea Butter Lip Balms and three Mattelustre lipsticks.
They all look so pretty — I’ll forever be in love with Pixi’s beautiful packaging!
The Shea Butter Lip Balms ($8.00 each) have a weightless formula with a buttery soft texture that is said to be super nourishing and soothing, while giving a gorgeous wash of color to lips. I was quite surprised at how pigmented these lip balms were when I first swatched them. These colors are definitely not sheer, but aren’t super saturated either — the payoff is build-able to give a customizable coverage, which is nice. The consistency felt lovely — very lightweight and supple, and glided on like a dream to provide a moisture-rich, hydrating coloration that’s luscious and pleasant. I truly enjoy the soft and comfortable formula, and like that these lip balms have some pigment to them for those lazy days when I just want a quick and easy, moisturizing flush on the lips.

The Mattelustre Lipsticks ($12.00 each) were given this name for a reason. These lip colors have a matte texture with a hint of sheen that allows for a full color coverage without the drying finish. They’re soft, lightweight, pigmented, and hydrating. They don’t last very long, however, because of the oils in the formulation for the conditioning feature, but I don’t mind as the rich pigmentation and comfortable wear surely makes up for this. If you’re not into the ultra matte look or are prone to dry lips, I think you will really enjoy these lipsticks! They’re definitely going to be perfect for the upcoming winter months since I tend to have very dry skin during the harsh winter and am looking forward to incorporating these beauties into my regular makeup routine.
Peach Blossom is a darkened coral orange.
Bitten Rose is a medium rose pink.
Rose Naturelle is a muted brownish pink (although it looks to have an orange undertone in my swatch photo).

I’m loving Sweet Peach since it’s a “my lips, but better” shade and Rose Naturelle, which looks so beautiful with my skin tone. Do you have a favorite shade?
