I’ve wanted to try the Miracle Gel Nail Polishes ($14.99 each) from Sally Hansen for the longest time and couldn’t have been happier when I received a darling little package that contained five shades from the incredibly vast collection (over 70 colors) to try out!
What intrigued about this polish line was, of course, the stunning range of irresistibly breathtaking colors, but also the “get up to 14 days of color and shine” promise. You get a gel-like finish with these polishes without having to use a lighting system, in two ultra simple steps, and they also claim to be more chip-resistant than regular nail polish — sounds super good, right?! Well, I put some of the colors that I received to the test and I’m finally ready to share my thoughts with you all.
The five colors that I got are Cream of the Crop, Gigabryte, Pink-terest, Scarlet Starlet, and Byte Blue.
I really like that these polishes have a true-to-color payoff — the color that you see in the tube is the exact color that you’re going to get on your nails. They also apply on nicely with most of the shades giving an opaque color coverage with just two coats — the only exception was Gigabryte (bright yellow), which, unfortunately, was a little streaky. I was also very pleased with how fast-drying these polishes were — in about ten minutes, my manicure was completely dry! My only small disappointment with these polishes is the long wearability boast. I used the word “small” because my manicure lasted only six days before the polish started chipping away (I work with my hands constantly, so I’m not too surprised at this outcome), however, my pedicure is reaching the 14-day point and is still going strong.
In the photos below, I have on Byte Blue with Pink-terest as the accent color; the dotted detailing was achieved using Byte Blue and Gigabryte. I applied the colored polishes first, followed by Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat.
This was day one of wearing the polishes; the photos were taken a few minutes after application.
Here’s what my nails looked like after twelve days:
Although these polishes didn’t last up to 14 days on my hands, I still loved the quality and opacity of these colors. I will definitely be purchasing other colors from the Miracle Gel line — I’m eyeing Regal Rose, Rosey Riviter, B Girl, and Wine Stock.
These nail polishes range from $7-10 and can be found at your local drugstores.
Have you tried any colors from this collection? What are your thoughts?
