I recently got the Rose Fresque Blush Subtil from Lancome and enjoyed it so much that when the opportunity struck to try out a few more shades, courtesy of the brand, I couldn’t resist. What can I say, I’m a fan of the formula and these new shades are so stunning!
These Blush Subtil ($32.00 each for 5.1 g) powders are housed in a sleek black packaging that includes a full-sized mirror and mini brush for application — cute and convenient. The five colors that I’ll be sharing with you today have either a satin, matte, or shimmer finish. I love how all five shades felt consistently soft and smooth regardless of their texture, and they aren’t drying. That positive first impression from just swatching the colors extended to application and performance as well. These blushes are very pigmented and live up to their claims of being silky, true-to-color, and comfortable. They apply effortlessly and wear wonderfully, offering an even color payoff that’s lasts for hours. A little product goes a long way, so only a dab of the brush into the powder is needed to achieve a beautiful flush on the cheeks. I simply have nothing negative to say about these blushes — the colors are so pretty and the formula is superb.
280 Mocha Havana is a light warm brown with gorgeous glimmering shimmers. This shade wouldn’t work as a blush for me, but would be great as a bronzer topper for added radiance.
347 Rose Liberte is a matte dark coral pink with a warm undertone. It’s a beautiful shade and I would definitely wear it all year round.
356 Blush For You is showing up in the photos as a cool lavender pink, but in actuality, it’s a medium fuchsia pink with a warm undertone and a matte finish.
363 Smile & Blush is a satin coral with a silvery sheen. It’s my favorite out of the group. It gives such a pretty and natural flush of color and glow to the cheeks. I can see this being my go-to blush for days where I opt for a more minimal makeup look — it’s perfect.
473 Keep Calm & Blush is a berry hue with shimmers. Although it looks quite dark in the pan, once blended onto the skin, it’s very wearable. This is a great color for fall and winter.
I’m wearing my favorite, 363 Smile & Blush, in the makeup look below.
