Is it possible for a makeup product to be magical? Yes, definitely! I’m a believer, even more so after recently trying out Lancome’s gorgeous L’Absolu Lacquer Glosses. My, oh my, my mind was blown! These innovative hybrid lip lacquers offer the pigmentation of a lipstick, comfort of a gloss, and lasting power of a stain. They sound dreamy and trust me, they wear and perform just as heavenly as they seem.
The L’Absolu Lacquer Glosses ($26.00 each) are available in an impressive range of shades with twenty-eight colors from nudes to brights in either creme or shimmer finish.
These lip lacquers have a lightweight feel to them with a semi-tacky texture that isn’t overly sticky; the slight tackiness allows for better adhesion as the colors do stay nicely in place and don’t bleed. There is a soft sheen to the pigment — not super glossy that it will slip and slide, just a perfect amount of shine to help with hydration and comfortability. I really like that the coverage is build-able and how workable these colors are — you can achieve a soft effect with one layer or build up the color for more vibrancy.
Application is smooth sailing — easy to apply with no streakiness or difficulties. Longevity varies depending on the color (light shades are less likely to last as long as dark ones); however, the residual stain that these colors give help to prolong their wear time even more and is one of my favorite aspects about these lip lacquers.
Overall, I love the pigmentation and comfortable formula of these lip lacquers; they’re non-drying and are very comfortable to wear, and of course, the long wearing finish is just superb.
