I recently added two new Lancome products to my collection, courtesy of the brand, and wanted to do a review and share them with you. When it comes to makeup, blush and lipstick are my two utmost favorite products, so of course, I was extra excited to try these new colors.
First, is the Rose Fresque Blush Subtil ($32.00 for 5.1 g), which is a rosy mauve color with a true matte finish. This blush is described on Lancome’s website as a luxuriously silky powder that glides on to give a true-to-color finish that is oil-free and comfortable.
The sleek black packaging includes a full-sized mirror on the inside with the powder blush on the left side and a small brush on the right. The powder has a heavy perfume scent that vanishes upon application, while the texture itself is very soft and creamy. I didn’t find the matte finish to be drying at all and it is, indeed, very comfortable to wear and doesn’t accentuate imperfections. This blush is insanely pigmented, so a little goes a long way — a tiny dab of the brush onto the powder will give an effortlessly smooth color application that’s even and long wearing. I really enjoy this formula and particularly love this shade because it’s so pretty and natural looking, and is easily build-able for more vibrancy if desired.
The 157 Mademoiselle Stands Out L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine Lipstick ($30.00) is a beautiful orange red with a super hydrating and luscious, high-shine finish. It applies like a balm and gives a glossy color payoff that’s comfortable and moisturizing; however, because of the slippery texture of this lipstick, the color isn’t very long wearing, so reapplication after a couple of hours is a must.
Although the longevity is a bit lacking, it’s still not a deal breaker for me because I really enjoy the formulation and pigmentation of this lipstick. It gives the perfect pop of color and feels incredibly hydrating, which is perfect for days when I need a moisture-rich lip color that’s conditioning and easy-to-wear. I definitely want to add more colors from this lipstick line to my collection — I love it!
