New Urban Decay Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation & Stay Naked Threesome Palette Review, Swatches + Demo

New Urban Decay Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation & Stay Naked Threesome Palette

It’s always an exciting day when I receive a package of new goodies from one of my favorite makeup brands, Urban Decay. The brand just launched two new face products, the Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation and the Stay Naked Threesome Palette, which I will be reviewing and demoing for you in today’s post.

The two face powders have identical packaging that features a lightweight, reflective, bronze colored plastic compact with a lucid UD logo embossed in the center; there’s also a full-sized mirror on the inside of each compact. The packaging is pretty and serves its purpose, but the surface picks up so much fingerprints, so for a clean freak like me, I do have to clean it after every use.

The Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation ($39.00 for 6 g) comes in 24 shades that range from Ultra Fair to Ultra Deep. It has a vegan formula and is described as being weightless, breathable, build-able, and long wearing with a medium coverage and matte finish.

The compact has a double-decker design that features the powder foundation on the top and a charcoal infused sponge (that detoxifies and mattifies the complexion for easy application and on-the-go touch ups) on the bottom.

The finely milled powder feels incredibly soft and has a silky texture that blends beautifully onto the skin. It does, indeed, feel very weightless and breathable — it felt like I wasn’t wearing anything on my face at all! The medium coverage applies easily and layers with ease to instantly mattify the skin and control oiliness, while covering my skin imperfections like acne scars, redness, and discoloration. Not only did this powder foundation live up to all of its claims, it’s also quick to apply and looks so natural! It’s not heavy or cakey, wears wonderfully on its own (you can also wear it with a liquid foundation), and has great staying powder (I wore it for eight hours and it lasted well during that time with no recurring oiliness). I like to use a large powder brush to dust the powder all over my skin, then use the included sponge to pat the powder onto my under-eye area for better coverage.

I can’t remember the last time that I wore a powder foundation, but I’m truly impressed with the formulation of this one. I never knew I needed a powder foundation in my life until I tried this and I’m so glad that I did. This is a one-step product for me — concealer, foundation, and powder, all-in-one. It’s incredibly convenient to use and makes applying makeup super effortless (great for those lazy days). I have oily skin, so I really enjoy the mattifying finish and love the weightless coverage that feels invisible on my skin. On the contrary, if you have dry skin, then this powder will definitely accentuate that, so make sure that your skin is hydrated and moisturized before wearing this powder foundation. For me, this is a new fav!

In this “before” photo, I have on no base makeup. The only thing that I applied onto my bare skin was a face serum. As you can see, my skin is far from perfect. I suffered from extreme acne breakouts during my teenage years and have many scars from past and present breakouts. There’s also redness, discoloration, and dark circles. This is my skin on a “good” day with no major bumps. With all the existing flaws, I’m still truly grateful for my skin’s improvements over the years and I’m currently focusing on bettering it even more.

Currently, I prefer lighter and more natural makeup, so this powder foundation is perfect for me because it’s ultralight and feels like second skin. In this “after” photo, I wore only the Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation (no concealer or any other face product). It got rid of the shininess and concealed my redness and imperfections amazingly well. As you can see in my comparison photos, the results speak for themselves. UD did an incredible job with this formula — it’s superb!

For reference, I have light skin with a warm yellow undertone. I was matched with the shade 30WY, which is a tad bit too light for me; the next closest shade for my skin tone would be 40WY.

A sucker for face palettes like me? Urban Decay’s new Stay Naked Threesome Palette ($36.00 for 4 g [bronzer], 2.8 g [highlighter], 2.5 g [blush]) will have you swooning too! Featuring a tri-color design in one convenient compact that includes a bronzer, highlighter, and blush in three ultra soft powder finishes. There are three different color choices to choose from — I picked Rise solely for the beautiful coral blush.

Each shade in this face palette has a different finish, but they’re all beautifully formulated to have a soft texture that’s non-chalky and rich pigmentation that applies and blends smoothly. These colors wear wonderfully and have great longevity; they lasted nicely during the eight hours that I wore them and didn’t require any touching up. The shades are gorgeous, the formulas are highly workable, and the palette itself is great for traveling. I have no complaints here. I’ve always adored these types of 3-in-1 face palettes since they make application so much easier without the hassle of rummaging through my collection for three separate products. I’m super excited to add this to my collection and can’t wait to bring it with me on my future trips (new makeup bag fav)!

The Rise palette contains:

  • A warm brown bronzer with microscopic gold shimmers that disintegrate upon application to give a smooth, satiny finish.
  • A light peachy pink highlighter with a silvery sheen that gives a subtle, natural radiance.
  • A non-drying, matte vibrant coral with intense pigmentation and even color payoff (a tiny amount goes a long way).
