I was recently given an opportunity to try out some products from NOTE Cosmetics, a European beauty brand with an impressive selection of affordable products that I first became aware of on Instagram. I loved their sleek presentation and completely fell in love with their line after I tested out all of the amazing products that were sent to me. Every single product that they picked for me performed beyond my expectations and I love that their products are all cruelty-free and paraben-free. I’m so incredibly blown away by their variety, color assortments, and fantastic formulations — I’m already yearning to add more items to my collection!
Kicking off this review is the 03 Salmon Eyeshadow Pencil ($8.99), a shimmery golden bronze color with an insanely creamy texture that applies on smoothly and dries down within seconds to a water-proof and budge-proof finish. I can’t get over how soft and buttery this eye pencil is — it’s so effortless to work with, doesn’t pull or tug on the eyes, and is incredibly pigmented. It gives such a stunning radiant effect that makes the eyes instantly pop and lasts all day long without creasing or fading! This particular shade is quite versatile as it can be used as an all-over lid color, an accent highlight shade, or an eyeliner on the lower lash lines to brighten up the eyes. As this pencil does dry rather quickly, blending needs to be done promptly after application because once it sets, it will not budge! Also, the packaging doesn’t swivel up, so sharpening is required and can be a bit non-user friendly if you want to bring this on-the-go. I wish the product was in an automatic packaging instead, but other than that, this eyeshadow pencil is amazing!
I was so ecstatic to see that my package included the 104 Professional Eyeshadow Palette ($14.99 for 2 g x 5) because I was eyeing this beauty on the website! This palette has a neutral color scheme with a light to dark assortment of five wearable shades; they have no names to them, so I just used a simple numbering system to describe the colors down below. There is only one satin-matte color with the remaining four shades being all shimmery. I really like the variety of colors in this palette as they’re very user-friendly and perfectly complement one another to create a cohesive natural looking finish. The pigmentation of these eyeshadows blew me away — I was shook! They all felt so soft and buttery with a true-to-color payoff that swatched beautifully and wore just as nicely. These eye colors applied on with extreme ease, blended readily and uniformly, and lasted well during the couple of hours that I wore them without any fading. NOTE knocked it out of the park with this formula — these eyeshadows are easily comparable to some of the high-end brands in my collecion!
This eyeshadow palette contains the shades:
- 1 – pale pinky nude (satin-matte)
- 2 – warm lightened taupe (shimmery)
- 3 – muted brownish salmon with a warm undertone (shimmery)
- 4 – warm medium brown with a red tinge (shimmery)
- 5– dark cocoa brown (shimmery)
The 20 Bronzing Powder ($11.99 for 20 g) is the middle shade out of three color options, and is a warm golden brown with ultra fine golden shimmers and a satiny finish. The shimmers aren’t dense or glittery as they’re microscopic and were infused into the powder to impart a natural looking radiance to the skin; this bronzer warms up the complexion for a sun-kissed effect — it’s like a two-in-one, a bronzer and highlighter. The silky formula itself was very enjoyable to wear; it applied on smoothly and evenly, and layered on easily for a customized finish that looked natural and healthy without being orange or gray. There is so much product in this compact and a little goes a long way with the high-performing powder, so it’s well worth the money. This shade paired nicely with my fair skin tone as the warm undertone complemented my yellow undertone and gave my skin a beautiful warm glow that wasn’t overdone.
The 302 Mirage Mattemoist Lipstick ($9.99) is a true coral shade with a creamy matte finish. It has a pigmented, full color coverage with a subtle sheen that provides the perfect amount of moisture for a matte effect that isn’t drying or uncomfortable. The color grips onto the lips and doesn’t slide around, and lasts four to five hours with gradual fading. I’m obsessed with this color and the overall lipstick formula! I love the intensity of the rich color payoff and the smooth matte texture that doesn’t bleed or accentuate imperfections.
Last, but not least, is the 302 First Kiss Mattemoist Lip Gloss ($8.99), a vibrant coral orange with a rich matte finish and an intense full coverage pigmentation. This is more of a lip cream than a gloss as it has a very dense and creamy texture, and is highly saturated. The formula is definitely a standout — if you’ve never been a fan of matte liquid lipsticks because of the drying sensation, then you will fall head over heels for this lip product because I surely did! The color intensity, smooth payoff, and hydrating formula is just impeccable! This lip color lasted about five hours on me and left a pretty residual stain on my lips once the initial color slowly faded away.
Here is the makeup look that I created with these products.
On my eyes, I have on eyeshadows from the 104 Professional Eyeshadow Palette — I used #1 on the brow bone and tear duct, #2 and #3 on the crease, #4 and #5 on the inner and outer lid / lower lash line; I also applied the 03 Salmon Eyeshadow Pencil onto the center of the lid and on my lower water line.
I used the 20 Bronzing Powder to contour my face and give it a warm radiance — I wore only this powder (no blush or highlight) and the luminosity is just stunning!
For my lips, I wore the beautiful 302 Mirage Mattemoist Lipstick.
I have on the same makeup look, but just switched out the lip color in the below photo — I was wearing the 302 First Kiss Mattemoist Lip Gloss.
This brand is a must-try! I’m so impressed with the quality and performance of their products, and not to mention, the super affordable price point!
