Perfect Fall Lip Colors with Rimmel London

Fall is in full swing and that means it’s time to whip out the jackets and boots, and sultry, vampy lipsticks. One of my favorite things about this time of year — aside from the holidays and bundles of delicious foods — is the revival of dark lip colors. I love the classic reds, but dark plum and bold burgundy hues truly make an impact, giving an edgy and mysterious appeal that’s ultra sultry and alluring.

I’m a huge fan of dark lip colors and have been trying out three of The Only 1 Lipsticks from Rimmel London and thought these shades were perfect for fall, so I wanted to share them with you.

The lip colors come in a sleek black, glossy packaging with a colored strip at the bottom of each tube that represents the shade within, which is really nice and convenient as that eliminates the hassle of figuring out which color is which.

I have three shades from the range, consisting of Under My Spell, One-Of-A-Kind, and Oh-So Wicked.

The Only 1 Lipsticks ($7.00 each) claim to give a long lasting color with comfort, moisture, and staying power. All three colors have a glossy, semi-opaque color payoff with no shimmers and a high-shine finish. They do, indeed, provide plenty of moisture for a very hydrating and comfortable wear, which I love. These colors have a soft and lightweight texture that glides on smoothly and readily. While they feel creamy and are nicely pigmented, the colors didn’t apply on evenly and had some patchiness to them (see my lip swatches below). The glossy texture feels nice, but is very slippery, so it slides around a lot, which affects the color’s longevity. I got only three to four hours of wear with these lipsticks; however, once the initial color and shine wears off, there’s a residual stain that prolongs the wear time a bit longer.

I think for the affordable price tag, these lip colors aren’t bad — they’re creamy, pigmented, and are highly moisturizing. I really enjoy wearing these colors and I’m not bothered at all by the slight unevenness of the payoff or short wear time. They feel pleasantly moist and keep my lips soft and hydrated, which is an aspect that I’m super thankful for now that the cooler temperatures are approaching the Northeast.
