I got the Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00) from PUR Cosmetics last month and the more that I looked and played with it, the more that I fell in love with this beautiful palette. From first impressions, I was instantly attracted to the beautiful rose gold and marble-inspired packaging and the simple, yet sleek layout of the eyeshadows. There are twelve colors in this palette and they’re sectioned off into three rows with four mattes, four satin colors, and four shimmers in each tier. You have your highlight and transition shades on the top row, mid-tone and deepening shades in the middle, and the shimmery accent colors are on the bottom.
While this may seem like just another neutral eyeshadow palette, the mixture of finishes and wide range of colors make this a highly versatile and wearable essential palette that is anything but basic.
The curation of eyeshadows in this palette is perfection — I love the array of light and dark shades with both warm and cool undertones. Initially, I thought this palette contained eight mattes and four shimmers as the satin texture is quite subtle and didn’t really defer from the matte finish; regardless, the formula of these eyeshadows is what made me so overly impressed with this palette!
The texture of these eye colors have such a delightful creaminess to them that feels incredibly soft and non-drying, which was consistent throughout the entire palette, including the shimmery shades. Not only did these eyeshadows swatch beautifully, but they also applied and blended remarkably well. There was no unevenness, patchiness, or any difficulty with layering as these shades worked cohesively together to deliver a smooth and richly pigmented result. Speaking of pigment, I’m absolutely in love with the pigmentation and payoff of these eyeshadows! They have the intensity and workability that I desire in an eyeshadow formula that allows for an effortless makeup application, while being super enjoyable to wear and long lasting. I keep gravitating towards this palette because it’s so damn good and I’m afraid I’m going to make a dent in the pans soon from using these colors so much!
From the size of the pans to the quality and performance of these eyeshadows, I thought this palette would be way more expensive than what it actually costs! This is such an incredible palette for the price point and I truly hope that PUR will continue to release more palettes with this fantastic formula because if they do, I’ll be in big trouble, for sure! I’m clearly a huge fan and would recommend this palette in a heartbeat — it’s definitely a must-have if you love neutral tones with a buttery and hassle-free formulation!
