This is a long overdue post! I was in the process of editing this review and then everything got pushed back because my laptop broke! While I was waiting for it to get fixed, I had to rely on a temp laptop and wasn’t able to work on any makeup reviews, so I kept busy with my fashion posts, but now that things are okay, I’m finally able to share these gorgeous lip products from Stroke Of Beauty with you all! I discovered the brand on Instagram and was so intrigued by their artsy packaging that I later learned was a reflection of the founder’s — a professional makeup artist and painter — artistic perspective. The name of the brand is genius and fits so perfectly, and while the products looked beautiful, they performed just as beautifully also.
I have here two lipsticks and three lip glosses, which were products that I was most eager to try from the entire collection because I’m a lip product junkie.
The Imprint High Shine Lip Glosses ($22.00 each) come in six wearable shades from a light pink to a fun purple hue. These glosses have a hint of color to them with a semi-opaque payoff that deposits onto the lips to give a beautiful light-reflecting shine that enhances lip color for a gorgeous luscious effect. The formula doesn’t feel heavy or tacky, is non-sticky, and is very enjoyable to wear. The shiny finish wears beautifully alone for a gossamer look or can be layered over a lip color to add dimension for a gleaming result. I love topping off my lipstick with one of these glosses for a touch of moisturizing sheen — they look and feel amazing!
Signature is a baby pink with fine golden shimmers.
Influence is a warm nude.
Imagery is a lightened purple with a warm undertone.
The Mixed Media Lip Shines ($24.00 each) have a luscious hybrid formula between a lip balm and lipstick to give the best of both worlds, offering a silky application of a balm and a saturation of a lipstick. These lip colors also have anti-aging and smoothing benefits to moisturize and help with dryness, which are qualities that I love since I’m prone to dry skin. I also really enjoy the effortless application and build-able coverage. A gentle coat of the lipstick will provide a delicate flush of color for a sweet look, but when layered on, the finish is vibrant and bold. For longevity, these lip colors gave me about three hours of wear before needing reapplication, but during that wear time, they offered lots of hydration, didn’t accentuate fine lines, and was very comfortable.
Rocio looks a lot darker in the tube, but once applied onto my skin, it was a medium pink.
Meric is a gorgeous, bright cool-toned magenta pink; I love to build this color up with a few coats to achieve full opacity — it’s so stunning!
I’m wearing Rocio.
